The refundable deposit typically ranges from around RM 1,000 up to RM 2,500 depending on the car (higher on supercars). It is pre-authorised on your credit card at handover and released in full once the car is returned and checked for any damage or fines — usually within a few business days, depending on your bank.

Yes. Basic comprehensive insurance is mandatory in the Malaysia and is included on every rental, with a standard excess (deductible) you’d pay only in an at-fault incident. You can reduce or remove that exposure with an optional full-coverage / zero-excess upgrade. Fines, tyre, rim and interior damage, and off-road or reckless use are not covered.
