Car rental at KLIA

We deliver rental cars to KLIA Terminal 1 for RM 150, which covers the 45-minute run from our Subang Jaya base and the tolls each way. Give us your flight number and we track it, so a delayed landing does not cost you the car. Our driver meets you in the arrival hall with your name on a sign, walks you to the short-term car park where the vehicle is waiting, does the licence check and walkaround there, and hands over the keys. No shuttle bus, no counter queue, no waiting for a car to be brought round from a compound.

Local notes

KLIA, and why renting here works the way it does

Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 sits in Sepang, about 55 kilometres south of the city, and it is a large, well-signposted airport built around a main terminal building and a separate satellite building reached by an automated aerotrain. International arrivals come through the satellite; domestic and some regional flights use the main building. Arrivals is on Level 3 of the main terminal, with the departure hall above on Level 5. The short-term car park sits directly opposite arrivals, connected by a covered walkway — a two- or three-minute walk with a trolley. The KLIA Ekspres and Transit platforms are on the lower level, and the road to KLIA2 takes about ten minutes.

Arriving travellers who want to drive straight out instead of dealing with a counter — holidaymakers heading to Melaka, Port Dickson or up the North–South Expressway, and business travellers going to Cyberjaya, Nilai or Seremban. Families with luggage take an Alphard Executive Lounge or a Vellfire, and those need booking well ahead in school holidays. Couples and solo travellers take a Mercedes or BMW saloon, or a Lexus IS300 F Sport. There is a third group worth mentioning: people flying in specifically for a weekend in something quick, who go straight from the arrival hall into a 911 GT3, a Mustang or a Huracán. We also do a good number of one-way arrangements where the car is collected from a hotel in the city at the end of the trip, which avoids the return drive to the airport entirely.

Getting there from SS15

From the city, KLIA is reached via the ELITE Expressway and the KLIA Expressway, joining from the NKVE, the Federal or the MEX depending on where you start. From our SS15 base it is about 45 minutes clear, with roughly RM 20 to 25 in tolls each way. From KLIA into central Kuala Lumpur, allow 50 to 70 minutes in normal traffic and up to 90 in the evening peak or heavy rain — the last stretch on the MEX or Besraya into the city is the slow part, not the expressway. Signage out of the terminal is clear; follow signs for Kuala Lumpur and stay on the KLIA Expressway to the ELITE.

Parking in KLIA

The short-term car park opposite the arrival hall is where we stage the handover, and it charges by the hour on an escalating scale, so it is cheap for the twenty minutes we need. The long-term car park is further out and considerably cheaper per day if you are leaving a car for a trip. Both are covered. Do not attempt a handover at the kerbside drop-off outside departures — stopping there is limited to a few minutes and actively policed. On return, we will meet you in the short-term car park again and take the car from there.

Queries

Questions about renting in KLIA

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing bad, provided you give us the flight number when booking. We track the arrival and adjust the delivery time, at no extra charge. If the delay pushes you past midnight an after-hours surcharge may apply — we will tell you the amount before you confirm, never springing it on you at the car park.

Exactly where do we meet at KLIA?

Our driver waits in the arrival hall on Level 3 of the main terminal with a sign showing your name, then walks you across the covered link to the short-term car park where the car is parked. It is a two- to three-minute walk with a trolley. Licence check, walkaround and photos happen at the car, and take about ten minutes.

Is it cheaper to take the KLIA Ekspres and rent in the city?

Often, yes. The train runs to KL Sentral in about 30 minutes, and if we deliver to a city address instead the RM 150 airport fee disappears — most central areas are free delivery. It makes sense if you are not driving on day one. If you are heading straight out of the airport to Melaka or Port Dickson, take the car at KLIA.
