What a month actually costs
Published monthly rates start at RM10,000 for a Mercedes-Benz C300 or a BMW 330i M Sport. RM12,000 puts you in a Volkswagen Golf GTI, a Range Rover Velar, a BMW X4 or a Mercedes-AMG A35. RM13,000 takes the Honda Civic Type R or the AMG A45 S, RM14,500 the Porsche Macan, RM15,000 the AMG GLC 43, and RM21,500 the Range Rover Sport SVR or the AMG GLE 53.
Above that the rates climb steeply: RM27,000 for a BMW X7, i7 or 750e, RM28,000 for a Porsche 911 Carrera S, and RM45,000 and up for the Lamborghinis. Cars without a published monthly rate can still be taken long-term — ring us and we will quote the actual number for your dates.
Compare on effective daily cost, not headline price. The Golf GTI at RM12,000 a month works out at RM400 a day, which is below the daily rate of the cheapest car on our fleet. That is why long stays almost always end up on a monthly agreement, not a rolling daily one.
Who takes cars monthly
Expatriates on three-to-twelve-month assignments who do not want to buy a car they will have to sell in a hurry. Malaysian car ownership involves hire purchase, insurance, road tax, servicing and a used-car market that can be unkind — none of which is worth taking on for a short posting.
Companies placing a visiting director or a project team in KL, where a monthly rental is a clean expense line, not a capital purchase. Individuals waiting on a new car delivery, which in Malaysia can run to several months for popular models. And people whose own vehicle is in for a long repair after an accident.
What is included and what is not
Included: comprehensive insurance, road tax, all scheduled servicing, and replacement of the car if it needs to go in for work. If the car is due a service during your month, we arrange it and provide a substitute so you are never without transport.
Not included: petrol, tolls, parking and traffic summonses. All cars go out with a Touch 'n Go card fitted; on a monthly rental most customers reload it themselves instead of settling at the end, because a month of KL tolls adds up and it is easier to see it as you go.
Every monthly rental includes 4,000 kilometres a month, with a stated per-kilometre rate beyond it. If a daily Federal Highway commute means you need more, tell us up front and we will raise the allowance for a set monthly figure. There is no scenario where you find out about it afterwards.
Deposit, payment and extending
The security deposit is refundable and held against damage, tolls and summonses. It is released after the car is returned and checked, typically the same or the next working day, with a bank transfer taking a day more to land. The amount depends on the car and is confirmed in writing before you commit.
Monthly rental is billed month by month. Extending is straightforward — tell us before the period ends and we roll it forward at the same rate, subject to the car still being free. If it is not, we will offer the closest equivalent instead of leaving you without a car.
Ending early is where we ask you to be realistic. A monthly rate is a discount on the daily rate given in exchange for the month. If you return after twelve days, the booking is priced closer to the daily rate for the days used, not at one-third of the monthly. We spell this out at signing so nobody is surprised.
Swapping cars during a long rental
On rentals of three months or more we can rotate you between cars. People take a saloon for the working weeks and switch to something else for a fortnight, or move from a small SUV to a larger one when family arrive for a visit. Rates adjust to whatever you are actually holding.
This is easier to arrange with a week's notice than with a day's. Tell us roughly what your year looks like at the start and we will keep an eye on availability for you instead of making you check each time.
Questions about this service
What is the cheapest monthly car rental you offer?
RM10,000 a month for a Mercedes-Benz C300 or a BMW 330i M Sport, which works out at roughly RM333 a day. If you need something below that, ring us — several cars without a published monthly figure, including the Honda Civic RS, can be quoted long-term on request.
What happens if the car needs servicing during my month?
We arrange it and supply a substitute car for the duration, so you are never left without transport. Scheduled servicing, road tax and comprehensive insurance are all included in the monthly rate. You are responsible only for petrol, tolls, parking and any summonses.
Can I return the car early and get a refund?
The monthly rate is a discount granted in exchange for the full month, so an early return is re-priced closer to the daily rate for the days you actually used, not pro-rated from the monthly figure. We state this clearly before you sign so it is never a surprise at the end.
