Car rental in Puchong

We deliver free anywhere in Puchong — Bandar Puteri, Bandar Kinrara, Taman Puchong Perdana, Puchong Jaya and the industrial parks off Jalan Puchong. It is around 20 minutes from our Subang Jaya base outside peak, so we quote 35 to 50 minutes from confirmation. Add time in the evening, because the LDP is the LDP. We come to your door, condominium lobby or office, check the licence, walk the car with you and take a photo record before handing over the keys. Collection at the end of the hire works the same way, at a time you choose.

Local notes

Puchong, and why renting here works the way it does

Puchong grew fast from what was a mining and smallholding area into one of the most populous townships in Selangor, and the growth outran the road network. IOI Mall Puchong anchors the centre and has been expanded repeatedly; Setia Walk in Pusat Bandar Puchong is the newer lifestyle block with its own hotel and plaza. Bandar Puteri is the main commercial grid, full of restaurants, clinics and offices, while Bandar Kinrara sits on the eastern side towards Seri Kembangan with its own retail rows and the golf club. There is substantial light industry in Taman Perindustrian Puchong and around Kampung Baru Puchong. The LRT extension along the LDP corridor changed commuting here considerably, though most households still drive.

Suburban households, in the main — Puchong is family territory, and bookings skew towards seven-seaters. The Alphard and the Vellfire go out constantly for weekend trips and airport runs. There is also a strong business trade: company directors and traders in the Puchong Financial Corporate Centre hiring a Mercedes or BMW saloon for a week of meetings, and families booking a Range Rover for a longer trip. Younger renters in the condominiums along the LDP corridor take a Golf GTI or a Civic RS for daily commuting. Monthly hires are common with families waiting on a new car delivery, which in Malaysia can run to several months.

Getting there from SS15

Everything in Puchong hangs off the LDP, with the Kesas and the Bukit Jalil Highway providing the other main links, plus the SKVE further south. From SS15 we come down the LDP, about 20 minutes clear. Honestly, the LDP northbound between Puchong and Sunway in the morning and southbound in the evening is one of the more reliably congested stretches in the Klang Valley — an extra 20 to 30 minutes at peak is normal, more if there has been rain or an accident. Tolls at the Puchong Barat and Sunway plazas are a few ringgit each. Bandar Kinrara offers a useful back route east towards Seri Kembangan and the MEX.

Parking in Puchong

Parking in Puchong is mostly plentiful but chaotic in pockets. Bandar Puteri and Puchong Jaya shoplot rows have MBSJ paid bays, coupon or app, at low rates, and they are full at lunch and dinner with a good deal of double parking. IOI Mall and Setia Walk both have large car parks, IOI's charging modest hourly rates and filling up completely at weekends. Residential streets in Bandar Kinrara and Taman Puchong Perdana are free and generally easy. Condominium deliveries need the plate registered at the guardhouse, so send us your block when you book.

Queries

Questions about renting in Puchong

How much extra time should I allow for the LDP?

At peak, 20 to 30 minutes on top of the normal run, and more after heavy rain or an accident. Northbound towards Sunway and PJ is worst from about 7am to 9.30am; southbound back into Puchong is worst from 5.30pm to 8pm. If your plans are flexible, travelling mid-morning or after 8pm makes a real difference.

Do you have seven-seaters available in Puchong?

Yes — the Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge and the Vellfire are our most requested vehicles here. Both are proper seven-seat MPVs with sliding doors, captain's chairs in the middle row and room for luggage behind. They are popular for weekend trips and airport runs. Book a few days ahead for weekends and school holidays, when seven-seaters are the first category to go.

Is delivery to Puchong really free?

Yes. Puchong is within our core free-delivery zone, along with Subang Jaya, Sunway, Petaling Jaya and central KL. There is no charge for delivery or collection anywhere in Puchong, including Bandar Kinrara and the industrial parks. What you see on the rate is what you pay, aside from fuel, tolls and any traffic fines.
